Freya's Page

Freya, who is 12 years old, has been doing gymnastics at Deal since she was 5 years old. After her first general class at the club her potential was spotted and she was invited into the Women's Artistic squad. Since then she has won 11 gold medals, 5 silver and 5 bronze for the club in both individual and team events.

In September 2003 Freya competed in her first competition at age 7. She won this and then went on to win her next competition, giving her 2 gold medals and a county title.

During the rest of 2005 Freya won another gold medal before having another regional competition. At this she came 2nd individually and again qualified for National Finals where the South East team were crowned level 4 National champions. Later in the year Freya was invited into the South East regional squad and came 2nd at the Kent county competition.
Freya was selected to be remain in regional squad throughout 2006. At her first competition, the Regional Grades, Freya came 4th after suffering from a few falls on the beam. However, she still qualified to represent the South East at the National Finals, at which the team came 3rd. Due to injury, Freya was unable to compete at the county competition in this year.
In 2007 Freya was now competing at level 2. In the summer of this year she competed at the National British Championships in Gloucester for this level. She was the only gymnast from Kent who competed at this competition. Later in the year Freya won the elite 2x2 title with her team mate Louise. She also came 2nd at the Regional championships and ended the competition year by winning the level 2 County championships.

Freya had a busy 2008, competing in Deal's 3-Way training competition, travelling to Gloucester for the Espoir Championships, winning silver in the Senior Challenge 2x2 team with fellow Deal gymnast Louise in the Kent Artistic Twin Piece competition and winning the Regional Espoir Challenge title.
