Kent Twin Piece and Individual Championships 2011
The Kent Twin Piece competition for Women's Artistic gymnastics took place at Gravesend this year with seven Kent clubs taking part.
The first competition of the day was the 'Level 14 Teams'. Rosie Meindl and Emma de Kort Settle took a well deserved gold with team mates Kaitlyn Crocker and Jazmine Wratten taking the bronze. This was the first competition for the young gymnasts and a great start to their future competing in gymnastics.
This round also included the Individual Level 5 competition with Georgia Reynolds taking the bronze medal. Deal's Level 4 team saw Natalia Squire and Hannah Scrivens partnering each other finishing in the line up in 4th place. Poppy Joannides and Katie Roy also finished in the line up in a credible 6th place.
Round three of the competition saw the Level 5 teams compete. This was the largest team competition of the day. Holly Bevan and Niamh Hough took 5th place and a place in the line up with team mates Ellie Meindl and Libby Greenfield taking 9th place. Many of the competitors were two years senior to the Deal contingency so their achievement was brilliant.
The highest level of the day for the club involved Freya Wood and Heidi Chapman in the Junior Challenge team. The girls finished in silver medal position.
