Representing the South East Region, three members of the Acrobatic and Tumbling squad travelled to Fenton Manor, Stoke for the Acrobatic and Tumbling NDP Finals.
The event, which took place over one weekend, saw over 830 participants from 118 clubs drawn from all over the United Kingdom to represent their respective region - thirteen gymnastic regions in all.
Competing both their balance and dynamic routines, in the category of Grade 4 Women's Groups: Lucy Merritt, Katy Morris and Ashleigh Heath came a very credible 4th place overall missing out on a bronze medal position by just 0.4
On the same day, as well as competing their trio routines Katy and Ashleigh also competed their tumbling routines of three tumble runs. Katy competed in Elite 2 Women's Tumbling 15yrs + and gained 6th position, a two place improvement on last year's position, while Ashleigh competed in Elite 1 Women's Tumbling 11-12 years came 9th.
Katy has obtained six national final places in three different gymnastic disciplines; Ashleigh three in two different gymnastic disciplines and for Lucy this was a well earned first time, before retiring to take her place at university.
